II MOTORBIKE RACE "EL SARDINERO"SANTANDER8 October, 2011 In this hill climb, competitors for the Spanish national championship together with veteran racers and overseas riders will compete, not for prizes or points, but just for the fun of racing on publics roads. You will see and hear in action pre-40s classics and screaming Spanish two strokes from the 60s, see Moto Guzzi and Ducati against Norton Manx and Triumph T70 not to mention Montesa Bultaco and Ossa. Last years entry from the UK included: Dennis Bagshaw (Triumph T70), Glyn Trevor (Ducati 200), John Worthington (Velocette KSS), Dean Whynacht (Honda CL77), Harry Long (Bultaco Matador), Peter Kean (Bultaco Astro) and Tony Dawson (Bultaco TSS) the majority of the 54 competitors; naturelly were Spanish, determined to put up a good show on home territory.
TECHNICAL REGULATIONS 1. All the participant motorcycles in races organized by the Moto Club Pistón, were grouped in the following categories: TWO-STROKE ENGINE : Motorcycles of 2-stroke Mono cylinder with equal or inferior piston displacement to 400 cc. FOUR-STROKE ENGINE : Motorcycles of 4-stroke Mono cylinder with equal or inferior piston displacement to 500 cc. 2. This regulation is only applied to the events organized directly by the Moto Club Piston and it is not tensile to other championships or sport manifestations where the M.C. Pistón is not competent. 3. All questions related to this technical norm, its dispositions and of security, are exclusive competence of the M.C. Pistón 4. The technical Inspector has the disposal on the technical decisions and of security. Any participant motorcycle in events organized by the M.C. Pistón is verified previously and declared apt according to the Regulation. In case of not-conformity, the organization is entitle to deny the exit to track. 5. All the participant motorcycles have to respect the technical and security norms detailed to bellow: a. It is allowed to freely change the internal pieces of motor and gear box, whenever they are respected the limit of piston displacement established for each category. b. The outer aspect of the propellent has to respect strictly the one of the original model. c. The election of the exhaust pipe system is free, respecting as far as possible the esthetic of epoch of the motorcycle. In case of mounting a racing exhaust pipe, is obligatory the use of a silencer. The material of the silencer can not be of fiber of carbon or of kevlar. d. The chassis and tilted has to the original or replica of the epoch, manufactured in the same material. It is not admitted tilted of rectangular section, except in those cases where the original model have it. e. Obligatory the disassembling of light, back pilot, intermittent, mirrors, registers, central trestle and lateral trestle in all the participant motorcycles. f. The control of the accelerator has to have frontal exit, not being allowed those of lateral exit or any other system. g. The rims you would obligatorily deberan to be of radios and the brakes of drum in both axes, except those models that brought disk brakes in origin, in any case mounted on rims of radios. h. The election of the carburetor is free whenever it is a model of epoch to which the model of the motorcycle corresponds or a replica of these. Its bell has to be cilindric, not being allowed carburetors with guillotine or flat floodgate nor with power jet, except the DELLORTO mod. VHBZ and VHBT of square bell. i. The numbers you would be assigned by the Organization, having to be placed obligatorily in the frontal of the motorcycle over the front fender. j. All the motorcycles have to have a security switch of easy accessibility once started.
CATEGORY TWO-STROKE ENGINE 1. In this category will be admitted all the motorcycles of two-stroke Mono cilinder with equal or inferior piston displacement to 400 cc 2. The preparation of the motor is free in its interior, always respecting limits of piston displacement. 3. The rims you should be of radios, with a maximum width of 2.50" in 18" or 19" diameter 4. The maximum width of the back tires should be of 120 5. The damping system should be conventional in the front bracket, with diameter of bars non superior to 35 mm and in the back, obligatorily doubles shock absorber. 6. The brakes should be of drum in both axes, except those models who originally have discs. In any case they could be of double disc in the front axis. 7. The maximum date of manufacture of the participant motorcycles should be until the 31-12-1980.
CATEGORY FOUR-STROKE ENGINE 1. In this category will be admitted all the motorcycles of four-stroke Mono cilinder, with equal or inferior piston displacement to 500 cc. 2. The preparation of the free sera motor in its interior, always respecting limits of piston displacement. 3. The rims you should be of radios, with a maximum width of 2.50"in diameter of 18" or 19" 4. The maximum width of the tires should be of 120 5. The damping system should be conventional in the front bracket. With diameter of bars non superior to 38 mm. In the back obligatory double shock absorber. 6. The brakes should be obligatorily of drum in both axes, except those models which originally have discs. 7. The maximum date of manufacture of the model should be inferior than 31-12-1980.
SPECIAL CATEGORY In this category motorcycles of competicion or cafe racer are admited with date of manufacture previous to 31-12-1980, which because of their technical or piston displacement characteristics do not enter within some of previous categories, and those which in the opinion of the organization there presence in the race is of motorcyclist interest because of their historic value, always in accordance to the following ADMISSION NORMS: 1. The rims should be obligatorily of radios, except in those models which originally have alloy ones in serie, beeing in this case obligatorily that they are the original ones. 2. The brakes could be of drum or disc, simple or double, but in any case it has to be the originally equipment of the motorcycle. 3. The brake pumps, if it have, should be obligatorily of one deposit separated in both axes, they could not be of radial type. 4. The damping system of the front should be conventional, noninverted bracket and the back one could be be Mono or cushioning Bi, whenever it is the original equipment of motocycle. 5. The piston displacement and number of cylinders is free, whenever in the opinion of the organization they fulfill initial paragraph. 6. The presence of this type of motorcycles in the race, will be purely of EXHIBITION, there will not be taking times in any of the race and therefore they will not be valid for the classification in any of the categories. 7. Once made the inscription for this category, if for some reason of technical type or others, the pilot has to change the motorcycle, he should replace it by another one of equal or similar characteristics, putting it in knowledge of the organization with at least two hours before the beginning of the test, in order to get its approval to participate in this special category. 8.
